Are you an NPD/ Food Technologist with strong knowledge of meat & savoury applications, looking for a role where you can combine your technical expertise with more customer contact?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established food ingredients business, working directly with new and existing customers to provide technical solutions, develop new opportunities and drive commercial growth. You’ll be out in the market with customers, using your technical understanding to solve problems, support product development and ultimately win business.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and develop relationships with new and existing customers
- Visit customer sites to provide technical and product support
- Identify, prospect and convert new business opportunities
- Use your knowledge of meat applications to recommend effective customer solutions
- Support customer development projects and help turn technical opportunities into commercial wins
- Work closely with Business Development, Sales and technical colleagues to grow accounts
- Handle customer enquiries and ensure excellent levels of service
- Deliver against agreed sales, revenue and KPI targets whilst maintaining margin
- Attend relevant industry exhibitions and conferences
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines technical food knowledge with a genuine commercial mindset. You might already be working in technical sales, or you could be an experienced food technologist/application technologist who enjoys working with customers and is ready to move into a more customer facing role.
You will ideally have:
- Strong technical knowledge of meat products and meat applications
- Experience within food ingredients, food manufacturing or a related technical environment
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant food industry experience
- Understanding of functional ingredients and how they perform within food applications
- Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills
- Commercial drive with the confidence to identify and develop new business
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, self-motivated and hands-on approach
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with the wider team
- Driving License
